Loudoun County distributes spatial data in ArcGIS database or shapefile and DXF format for the cost of reproduction. Countywide spatial datasets may be purchased for $22 per DVD for up to 4.5 GB of data. There is a $100 surcharge to purchase countywide topography, and a $3 charge if the item is to be mailed. If the customer wants the data in DXF format and/or would like OMAGI to custom select specific geographic areas of the County, there is an additional $7 per 15 minute increment labor charge. Select aerial imagery is also available.

This purpose of this feature class is to provide the location of Loudoun County Planning and Zoning Department's approved legislative application boundaries and some associated information for application name, application number, project name, etc. The layer contains applications back to the 1980's for some application types and provides a land use history for locations within Loudoun County. This layer is for internal government only for use by County staff only.

Retention of attribute accuracy throughout the coverage to geodatabase feature class coversion process was ensured by a QA/QC programmatic check. To meet satisfactory QA/QC requirements the input coverage and output feature class must have, on a record by record basis, identical attribution when comparing all concatenated fields to all the user-defined attribution.

To meet satisfactory QA/QC requirements the input coverage and output feature class must have the same record total, and on a record by record basis, area, perimeter, and length differential of less than +/- 0.5%.
Loudoun County approved legislative applications
This layer was created with a two part process involving the transfer of newly approved legislative boundaries from individual project directories and also by temporary staff reseraching Loudoun County's Land Management Information System (LMIS) for the older/historical legislative applictions. The older applications before 2017/2018 were researched in LMIS by 2 sets of interns starting in May 2020 to December 2020 and boundaries were creating either by using matching current parcel boundaries or digitizing boundaries from georeferenced Concept Development Pages or plats. Newer application boundaries are captued with the Planning & Zoning Department's vicinity map process, which involves a staff person creating the initial application boundary upon acceptance for staff reports & presentations and then modifying the boundary upon approval if needed.
