Abstract:

The stormwater pipes and culverts data is comprised of lines. The pipes and culverts are the man-made structures composed of concrete, metal and plastic used to convey stormwater from catch basins and ponds to the natural drainage ways and swales that eventually discharge to creeks and streams. The pipes and culverts data was collected primarily in eastern Loudoun in the more urbanized portions of the County and was collected in the field using GPS instrumentation. At least 95% of the locational data for the pipes and culverts is accurate to within 1 meter or less.

Purpose:

Support of VPDES Phase II Stormwater Management Permit and County-wide storm water management. In support of the stormwater permit and the Stormwater Management program, regulated outfalls are identified and facilities that are inspected and repaired are tracked. Further, the data provides flow direction used to support pollutant travel analysis and the Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination Program.

Data are stored in the corporate ArcSDE Geodatabase as a line feature class. The coordinate system is Virginia State Plane (North), Zone 4501, datum NAD83 HARN, US Survey feet.

Loudoun County distributes spatial data in ArcGIS database or shapefile & DXF format for the cost of reproduction. Countywide spatial datasets may be purchased for $22 per DVD for up to 4.5 GB of data. There is a $100 surcharge to purchase countywide topography, and a $3 charge if the item is to be mailed. If the customer wants the data in DXF format and/or would like OMAGI to custom select specific geographic areas of the County, there is an additional $7 per 15 minute increment labor charge. Select aerial imagery is also available.
