This layer identifies existing non-residential projects/subdivisions within Loudoun County and their existing and potential residential development, including the amount of allowed, existing, and remaining residential housing units in each.

Purpose:

This non-residential projects/subdivision data is used for land use, capital facilities, and transportation planning within the County. It is also used for fiscal, demographic, and market analysis of the County. It is also used in determining the current state of non-residential development and help assist in guiding future non-residential development within Loudoun County.

Process_Description:

After creating the Residential Projects layer during the Residential build-out process, it was determined to create a non-residential project layer that identified the total amount of approved, existing and remaining square feet of major non-residential uses (office, retail, industrial, etc). This will be done in 2 stages, with the first step in identifying all the signficant approved (by-right and rezoning) non-residential and mixed use projects, with their name, acres, type, and development status initially identified.
After that, more research on built out and partially built out projects will be done to determine the amount of non-residential square feet that was approved. The existing and remaining amount would then be calculated form that.

Loudoun County distributes spatial data in ArcGIS database or shapefile & DXF format for the cost of reproduction. Countywide spatial datasets may be purchased for $22 per DVD for up to 4.5 GB of data. There is a $100 surcharge to purchase countywide topography, and a $3 charge if the item is to be mailed. If the customer wants the data in DXF format and/or would like OMAGI to custom select specific geographic areas of the County, there is an additional $7 per 15 minute increment labor charge. Select aerial imagery is also available.
